A dark spot in our penal system for sure. I wonder if all the rituals surrounding this - last meal, drive around the prison, - are done simply because on some level they (the system) questions this and needs to acknowledge the humanity in that person to some extent. I feel the previous botched execution may have been a sign to not proceed.

Very interesting & thought provoking story. I’m so curious how this will end. It raises so many questions & I guess in part why capital punishment is questionable in general-morally.
